I am so heartbroken and so, so sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to Tate's family during this devastating time. Tate and I set up a study group in second year, because of the pandemic I hadn't really made any friends the prior year and Tate was the first and probably the greatest friend I met at uni and we didn't even ever meet in the flesh. He was so generous and funny and had such a desire to learn. We would video call for hours, laughing and getting to know one another, not always doing the work we had planned but that never mattered because in the end it wasn't a study group, it was two friends hanging with each other. He was so passionate and talented, I was in awe of him and I will always hold our friendship in my heart with so many fond memories, he knew a side of me that no one gets to see and I shared a lot with him that I have never told anyone because I trusted him so much, we were each others confidant for a time because his heart was so big and open to anyone.
I will forever be thankful for our friendship and for meeting Tate, he taught me a lot about the benefits of not being afraid to put yourself out there because he never was, if he hadn't reached out to me, a stranger to him, in a random second year seminar, we likely wouldn't have met and my life would definitely have been lacking. Thank you for your friendship Tate ❤️ your smile will light up and live on in my heart every time I think of you.
